'Disappointed! They played Really Well,' Says Faf du Plessis After LSG Beat RCB

The Royal Challengers Bangalore versus Lucknow Super Giants game was an absolute thriller which went in favour of KL Rahul’s team. Batting first, RCB posted a target of 212 runs on the board, which LSG chased down in the last ball of the game. LSG needed just a single off the last ball which was successfully taken by Avesh Khan.

RCB skipper Faf du Plessis expressed disappointment over losing a game which most thought would be won by RCB.

Speaking at the post match conference, du Plessis said, "Disappointed! They played really well in the middle overs but we came back really well in the end. With 1 run needed off 1 ball, I fancied our chances with a run-out."

"Yeah, it was not an easy wicket to bat on earlier. It was quite drier and made life difficult for stroke makers. But as the match progressed, the pitch became easier for batting and you saw, how (Marcus) Stoinis and (Nicholas) Pooran batted. Pooran never missed the middle of the bat. He took the game away from us," Du Plessis added.

Bangalore were absolutely brilliant with the bat. Virat Kohli (61) and du Plessis (79*) shared 96 runs for the first wicket, after which Glenn Maxwell scored 59 at a strike rate of over 200.

However, their bowlers, especially Shahbaz Ahmed, Karn Sharma and Harshal Patel leaked plenty of runs. For LSG, Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran scored a half century each to take the team closer to the target.

RCB have now slipped seventh in the points table while Lucknow have moved right at the top.
