Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan, who was recently dropped from the Indian team after subpar performances against Sri Lanka and New Zealand, has shared his thoughts on the differences between playing under former captains Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma.

In an exclusive interview with The Lallantop, Dhawan elucidated that the three captains possess different personalities. Dhoni is a composed individual who had confidence in him and supported him, whereas Kohli is an aggressive captain whose personality is reflected in his playing style.

"They are all different characters. Dhoni bhai is very calm and composed, he used to back me, support me, and in fact, all of them supported me. His style was different. Virat was an aggressive captain, he plays with aggression too, it is his character," said the dynamic opener.

According to Dhawan, each cricketer has their own personality which is highlighted in high-pressure situations. The 37-year old opined that each leader has unique traits that they bring to the table, but it is the individual's personality that ultimately determines their response to pressure situations.

Meanwhile, the left-hander is gearing up for the IPL 2023 where he is slated to captain Punjab Kings who are still seeking their first IPL title. With the IPL scheduled to commence soon, Dhawan is expected to join the Mohali camp from February 24, where the team is set to regroup and commence their preparation for the cricketing extravaganza.
