Justin Langer wasn't the first coach who was picked up and thrown out of his seat after he put his team back on the driving seat in world cricket. It was the legendary opener and former head coach who helped Australia revive from the bruises of the Sandpaper Gate.

However, Langer was forced to quit his job as Australia's head coach after he made them win T20 World Cup 2022 and the Ashes after that.

The 51-year-old former cricketer recently came out and spoke about the mistreatment he got from Cricket Australia and some senior players.

Now, after the former head coach talked about his resignation - CA's Chief Executive Nick Hockley has said he wants to have a dialogue with Langer, discussing the issues the latter has got with the playing group.

“It was good to see JL come out and clarify that he has got no issue with the playing group, he is in a good place and certainly I am looking forward to seeing Justin in Perth next week,” Hockley told ABC Grandstand.

The CEO also stated that there was no sacking done and the former coach was offered a six-month extension on his contract.

“I mean I think this notion that in any way Justin was sacked is not right. I am really proud of the work that was done ahead of the Ashes and the T20 World Cup, we had some really great dialogue between all of the leadership group.

“Certainly I am really pleased to hear Justin’s comments that he’s in a good place and really wish him well on the commentary this summer,” he further stated.

The meeting between Langer and Hockley will take place in Perth during the first Australia-West Indies Test match, where the former opener will be commentating.
