India's Ravichandran Ashwin has added another feather to his illustrious international cap. He surpassed the legendary Kapil Dev to become India's third highest wicket-taker in international cricket during the second day of the third Test in Indore.
The off-break bowler continued his love-affair with left-handed batters, as he trapped Alex Carey lbw, and in the process grabbed his 688th international wicket in 347th innings, surpassing Kapil Dev, who bagged 687 wickets in 448 innings.
If we break down his numbers, Ashwin has 466 Test wickets, 151 ODI scalps, and 72 wickets in 65 T20Is.
Former India skipper, Anil Kumble is at the top of the list, with 953 wickets in 499 innings, while Harbhajan Singh comes below him with 707 wickets in 442 innings across formats.

Talking about the Indore Test, the game is nicely poised at the moment. In reply to India's paltry 109, Australia were bundled out for 197 runs. In the second innings, India are 13 for no loss, and still trail by 75 runs.
The home team already lead 2-0 in the series, and another win will seal their place in the WTC finals.
