England skipper, Ben Stokes, has showered plaudits on the growing talent of prodigious batter, Harry Brook, asserting that the latter is destined to become a predominant force on the global cricketing stage.

Brook's impressive half-centuries in both innings enabled England to vanquish New Zealand by a mammoth margin of 267 runs, thereby gaining an unassailable 1-0 lead in the two-Test series.

In an interview with BBC Sports, Stokes expressed his delight at leading the current England team, which he considers as an incredibly accomplished unit. Courtesy of the win over the Kiwis, the southpaw broke the record of becoming the quickest English captain to win ten Test matches, attaining the milestone in his twelfth game as the captain of the team.

Speaking highly of Brook, Stokes extolled him as a ‘fantastic talent’ who is poised to attain stratospheric heights in the cricketing fraternity.

"Brooky is carrying on from his amazing series in Pakistan. He is a fantastic talent. I think he will go on to be a global superstar,” said Stokes.

He also emphasized that besides possessing an awe-inspiring bowling attack, the English team boasts a batting line-up that is both resolute and audacious. According to the 31-year old, it takes eleven players to execute a match-winning performance and he is extremely grateful to captain a team that has fully bought into his ideas and strategies.

The Englishman asserted that while captaincy plays a crucial role, it is equally imperative to have a committed and dedicated team that wholeheartedly supports the captain's vision.

Stokes further attributed his phenomenal success as a captain to his players' incredible talent and dedication. As the Ashes series looms large on the horizon, he expressed optimism that England will have a formidable roster of players to choose from.
