Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh came under severe criticism after he dropped a sitter against Pakistan in the Asia Cup earlier this summer.

The Men in Blue went on to lose the game and the young pacer had to bear the brunt of the defeat. Some even went on to label him as a 'Khalistani' after the dropped catch.

The 23-year-old has now revealed how he bounced back from the situation and made an impressive comeback in the World Cup match against Pakistan on Sunday.

Arshdeep dismissed the Pakistan captain Babar Azam on a duck and his overall spell helped India keep Pakistan's score at an attainable level.

The Indian international has now opened up about how he had sleepless nights after the Asia Cup debacle. He went on to credit the team environment for helping him bounce back.

The bowler revealed (h/t News18) that his teammates stood by him during the difficult times and that helped him recuperate mentally and prepare himself for the marquee event in Australia.

“The team atmosphere is so good that we don’t let the outside noise get in. We enjoy each other’s company, stand for each other in bad times. It really helps.”

India picked up a remarkable win over Pakistan in their World Cup opener and they will be up against the Netherlands now later this week. It remains to be seen whether the Men in Blue can continue their impressive start to the tournament with another victory.
