After an exhilarating Sunday evening, the Netherlands and Bangladesh clashed in the Super 12 Group 2 match 17th on Monday, where the latter prevailed by nine runs in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

Chasing a mere 145 to win, Holland bundled under pressure against Bangladesh's pace attack led by Taskin Ahmed. Only Colin Ackermann stood his ground for the Dutch side, making 62 runs, while all the others perished.

Netherlands' innings saw some poor shot selections and haphazard run-outs that cost them the match as pointed out by skipper Scott Edwards.

Edwards, speaking with the official broadcaster wished for a better batting showing against India in their next Group 2 game while lauding his bowlers for restricting the Bangla Tiger below 150.

"Our bowlers were quite amazing, and they (Bangladesh) were around 10-15 runs short. But our run-outs (Max O'Dowd and Tom Cooper) were poor. Colin and Paul van Meekeren helped us to get closer to the total.

Hopefully we can bring in a better performance with the bat, looking forward to the next challenge (against India)."

The Edwards-led Dutch side will now lock horns against India in their upcoming contest, which could be their biggest challenge in the tournament.
