The year 2022 has been one to cherish for England's Alex Hales. After getting dropped from the English side on the eve of World Cup 2019, the opening batter returned to the T20I fold before the T20 World Cup this year.

Not only he returned to the English squad but he played a vital part in England's trophy-winning triumph, scoring 212 runs from six matches at a whopping strike of 147.22.

Hales, who is currently representing Sydney Thunder, added another feather to his hat by prolonging the list of his achievements in 2022.

During the Big Bash fixture against Brisbane Heat, the 33-year-old scored a match-winning 59* that helped him surpass Mohammad Rizwan's tally of 1817 runs in T20 cricket this year.

At the moment, Hales has scored 1869 T20 runs with one more game to go in 2022. The next batters to him and Rizwan in the list are - Pakistan's Shan Masood (1643), Jos Buttler (1570) and Indian maestro Suryakumar Yadav (1503).

In T20Is in 2022, the Englishman has notched 430 runs after playing 15 international games, including 86* against the Men in Blue in the semifinal clash of the recently concluded ICC event.

However, the English opener didn't make into ICC's Nominees for the T20I Cricketer of the Year for 2022.
