It has been a learning World Cup 2023 campaign for the emerging Netherlands side, who have won two crucial games so far against South Africa and Bangladesh, respectively, to leave a mark in the ten-team tournament. Each and every member of their side has given them something to look forward to in the future, including opener Vikramjeet Singh.

Vikramjeet, who has featured in six games as of now in the mega-event, has crossed the fifty-run mark in one of the games. In an exclusive interview with OneCricket, the left-hander revealed a few things and made some interesting predictions regarding the World Cup.

When asked about the possibility of lifting the trophy on 19th November, the 20-year-old picked the hosts India as the favourites and said that they are unbeatable at the moment. Further, he spoke about the Indian Premier League (IPL) auctions, mentioning that the cricketers in the Netherlands are more concerned about their country's growth and taking their team forward, but no one would want to miss an opportunity in the world's biggest league.

Adding to it, he named the IPL side he would like to play for, and it turned out to be none other than the five-time champions Mumbai Indians.

Prediction for the World Cup...

"Can't look past India, eh? They are looking very good, almost like no one can beat them. So yeah, I am going for India because of the home support as well."

Thoughts on IPL auctions and dream...

"It would be a dream to play in the IPL but if you ask most of the guys, they are focusing on building cricket in the Netherlands and reach the top, play good cricket, and do the best for Netherlands cricket but playing in the IPL would be cool."

Favourite IPL team?

"Mumbai Indians."

Vikramjeet and Netherlands will be playing their final league game of the WC 2023 against India on 12th November in Bengaluru and will hope to end their campaign on a high.
