Suryakumar Yadav makes it look terribly easy at times: NZ Head Coach Gary Stead

The Number 1 Ranked ODI team, New Zealand, have everything going in their favour. The Kane Williamson-led unit won the first ODI against India convincingly, and then in Hamilton, the rain became the spoilsport as the hosts will head to Christchurch with a lead of 1-0 in the series.

Following the rain-hindered affair at Seddon Park, the Kiwi Head Coach Gary Stead attended the press in the post-match conference.

Stead talked about various things starting from backing New Zealand's approach in the white-ball formats and defending the approach of batters like Skipper Williamson and Devon Conway

"I know there's a chat around a number of players and their T20 game. But in my opinion, on many of the wickets that we play on, it's just not about the game of crash-bash all time."

The 51-year-old in the presser also took some time and highly praised Suryakumar Yadav.

"He (Suryakumar) makes it look terribly easy at times. He is tough to bowl to because he can access both sides of the ground. He starts from ball one and puts you under enormous pressure right from the very start."

"Look, he's a huge force in world cricket at the moment. And one of the most sought-after wickets, I would imagine, in world cricket," he added.

The former Black Caps also comes from the same school of thought as India's Shubman Gill, as they think changing the playing conditions during a rain-hindered game should be considered.

"It's where difficult in New Zealand because we don't have any grounds (with closed roof), but I guess if there are grounds available, then it (playing in closed roof stadiums) should be considered," the Kiwi coach concluded.
