Shahid Afridi has claimed that the Pakistan Cricket Board is not providing any help for the rehabilitation programme of Shaheen Afridi in England.

Shaheen sustained a right knee ligament injury during the Test series against Sri Lanka in July. Since then he was on the sidelines and was travelling with the squad in the Netherlands series and Asia Cup as well.

The 22-year-old departed for London to undergo treatment for the injury, along with PCB's chief medical officer. With the injury concern being not too serious, he is set to be fit ahead of the T20I World Cup that is scheduled to start next month.

Rightfully, the left-arm pacer was named in the Pakistan squad for the show-piece event on Thursday.

Speaking to a news channel, Shahid revealed that the board is not extending financial support,  with Shaheen himself paying for the rehabilitation.

Here is what Shahid Afridi said:

"Shaheen went to England for rehabilitation at his own expense. I arranged him a doctor there and he contacted him. PCB is providing nothing to Shaheen."

Recently, former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Hafeez had also fired a shot towards PCB for delaying the departure of Shaheen for his treatment.

In his last international outing, Shaheen contributed with four wickets to help Men in Green prevail over Sri Lanka in a Test fixture.
