Northern vs Central Punjab
Northern decimated a lackluster Central Punjab by a narrow margin of three runs to snap their two-match losing streak in the ongoing tournament.
After putting to bat first, Northern rode on Ali Imran's half-century knock to post a mammoth total of 146 runs on the board in the allocated 16 overs.
Hasan Nawaz Tarra (24 off 23), Mubasir Khan (18 off 17) and Sohail Tanvir (20* off 8) also chipped in with handy cameos.
The likes of Mohammad Ali (3/33), Ali Asfand (2/24) and Aamer Yamin (2/30) were the chief annihilators with the ball for Central Punjab.
In their reply, Central Punjab fought right until the end but could never really recover after their top order perished in successive overs as they could manage only 143 for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.
Tayyab Tahir top scored for them with 59 runs from 39 balls. Salman Irshad picked two wickets while the rest of the bowlers made things tough for Central Punjab to complete the run chase.
