Former Indian cricketer Deep Dasgupta praised Pakistan's fast bowling depth in an exclusive chat with journalist Vimal Kumar on the show- OneCricket's Love of Cricket. He mentioned that despite Pakistan's premier pacer Shaheen Afridi missing the tournament, Naseem Shah really stood up in his absence.

He also mentioned that in their history, India had the luxury of quality batters, but conversely, Pakistan had a similar richness with express pace bowlers lined up in their squad.

"Naseem Shah is a quality. He is not a novelty factor anymore. As Sanjay said, India always had the luxury of good quality batters. It is not a new thing. The tradition started from 1932-33. And the same luxury Pakistan has but with their fast bowlers. Naseem is totally a quality,"

After adding his thoughts on the quality, he gave a brief about his chat with the current bowling coach of Pakistan, Shaun Tait, where he quipped that the former Australian was apprehensive about the quantity and quality of talent in their armoury.

"I spoke to Shaun Tait, Pakistan's bowling coach, and he counted five really quick bowlers. Shaheen, Naseem, Wasim Jr. Hasnain. I mean they all bowl consistently over 140-145. In international cricket, which team has this luxury? You have a battery of five bowlers,"

Furthermore, he was sceptical about the Men in Green missing Shaheen at some stage despite Naseem covering him well in his absence. However, he did give credit to the youngster for his outstanding performance.

"Credit to Naseem as he didn't allow the team to feel the absence of Shaheen. Obviously, Shaheen is a world-class bowler. You will miss him. I might be exhilarating the topic, but yeah, Naseem did well. I mean we didn't stress on the topic of Shaheen is not there rather we discussed on the youngster's performance. India does have depth in terms of players, but when it comes to fast bowlers, yeah, Pakistan have an edge on that."

India is set to once again clash with their arch-rivals Pakistan in the Super 4 stage of the Asia Cup on 4th September (Sunday), and another thriller is expected to be on the cards.
