  • Zim Vs Ban 2Nd T20i Hossain Ends Up With Career Best Figure As Tigers Level Series

Hossain ends up with career-best figure, Tigers level series

Mosaddek Hossain put on a display of his spin prowess, as Bangladesh pummelled Zimbabwe by seven wickets to register a series-levelling win over the hosts in the second T20I of the three-match series played at Harare on Sunday (July 31).

The right-arm spinner Mosaddek Hossain spun a deadly web around Zimbabwe to claim his career-best figures of 5 for 20 and restrict the hosts to a modest total of 135 for eight.

Chasing a below-par target, Bangladesh cruised home in 17.3 overs, losing just three wickets as opener Litton Das whacked a half-century (33-ball 56) to provide a flying start to the team.

Later, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Afif Hossain took Bangladesh home with an unbeaten partnership of 55 runs to finish the chase early.

For Zimbabwe, Sikandar Raza, Richard Ngarava and Sean Williams bagged one wicket each but none of them could really bother the opposition batters.

Earlier, after opting to bat first, Zimbabwe made a disastrous start, losing five wickets for just 31 runs in 6.5 overs. Bangladesh spinner Hossain wreaked havoc on the opposition as he ran through their batting lineup to push them on the back foot.

However, Sikandar Raza's staggering half-century knock (62) and Ryal Burl's 32-run knock helped the hosts stage a comeback as Zimbabwe finished off with a respectable total of 135 runs on the scoreboard. But in the end, that was not enough.
