The second ENG vs IND Test at Edgbaston kicked off with fireworks and not just with the bat. India's young gun Yashasvi Jaiswal found himself in the middle of a spicy exchange with England skipper Ben Stokes and was peak JaisBall vs BazBall.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Shuts Down Ben Stokes Sledge

Ben Stokes, trying to play mind games, threw some old-school sledging at Jaiswal right before lunch. It came after the left-hander nudged one into the leg side and called for a quick single.

The Englishman muttered something in passing, maybe hoping to shake up the youngster. But Jaiswal didn’t flinch. Instead, he fired back with, "You don't want to hear it from me, come on!".

That moment went viral in no time with fans loving the energy. But Yashasvi Jaiswal wasn’t just talking the talk, he was walking the walk too.

By the time India reached 104/2 in 26.2 overs, Jaiswal had already smashed a 68* off just 75 balls, peppering the boundary rope 12 times. He made it clear: you bring the chat, I will bring the bat.

India Fight Back After Early Jolts

England won the toss and decided to bowl first. But their bowlers, barring Chris Woakes and Brydon Carse, looked a bit out of ideas once Jaiswal started going after them. Josh Tongue has gone for 42 in his first 6 overs and Stokes even brought himself on, leaking runs and dropping a few words.

The hosts have tried reviews, chin music, and now even verbal volleys. But nothing seems to be rattling the 22-year-old.

India lost KL Rahul early for just 2 and Karun Nair, after a solid 31, fell just before lunch. But Jaiswal has held fort. Along with skipper Shubman Gill, who is on 1* off 8 balls, India are looking to weather the storm and post a strong first-innings score.

The JaisBall Era Is Here

Meanwhile, it wasn’t just a war of words. It was a statement. Jaiswal’s fearless attitude and free-flowing strokeplay screamed confidence. If BazBall is about playing with freedom, JaisBall is about playing with flamboyance and fire.

And as Day 1 progresses, one thing is clear: Ben Stokes and his men might need more than sledges to stop this Indian juggernaut.
