In a significant development, Bangladesh have opted to bat first in the final T20I of the ongoing three-match series against West Indies at Arnos Vale Stadium in Kingstown. Led by Litton Das, Bangladesh have already clinched the series, having won two T20Is on the trot.

At toss, Bangladesh captain Litton Das reckoned that they would batfirst in order to capitalise on the playing conditions. He confirmed that in-form batter Soumya Sarkar has been replaced by Parvez Hossain Emon, saying,

"We will bat first. It looks like a good wicket and we won the last two games batting first. As a captain, I’m really enjoying seeing the boys perform. Watching my bowlers do well from behind the stumps brings me great joy. I’m truly enjoying this experience."

On the other hand, West Indies skipper Rovman Powell stated that they would try their best to conclude the series on a high note. He said,

"Yeah I think its a case of us just playing good cricket. We have lost the series but want to end the series on a high. We have to put a better performance. We have to end the series on a high for the fans. We have two debutants. Justin Greaves & Jayden Seales comes in for Andre Fletcher and Akeal Hosein."

Team Updates: Soumya Sarkar injured his right index finger during the second T20I and has been ruled out of the final match of the series. The Bangladesh team physio stated that Soumya Sarkar's recovery might take approximately three to four weeks. Meanwhile, Jayden Seales and Justin Greaves are making their T20I Debuts for West Indies.
