India and Australia are in an intense battle in the fourth Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne, Australia. This is a crucial match for both teams from the aspect of the series and a spot in the WTC final.

On the first day of the match, Australia won the toss and opted to bat first. Sam Konstas' aggressive batting put Australia in the driver's seat. After Konstas' departure, Marnus Labuschagne and Usman Khawaja further strengthened the home team's grip on the match.

At one stage, it looked like Australia would take the game away from India in the first innings. However, Jasprit Bumrah brought the visitors back into the game with a brilliant spell, and by the end of day 1, the game was in the balance with Australia stationed at 311/6.

At the start of Day 2, the Indian team would aim to keep the Australian total below the 400 mark and then take the stronghold in the game by a resilient show with the bat. Leaving aside the match position, the Indian team was seen donning a black armband on Day 2. It was present on the arm of all the players.

This was concerning the ex-prime minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh. He served the office for 10 years, from 2004 to 2014. Dr Manmohan Singh, aged 92, passed away on Thursday at 9:51 PM IST after he was taken to the Delhi AIIMS hospital after he suddenly lost consciousness at his home. The Indian team donned the black armband to pay their homage at a national loss.
