Kolkata Knight Riders did the double over the Royal Challengers Bangalore this season. They defeated them at the Eden Gardens and thrashed them once again at the Chinnaswamy by 21 runs.

It was a collective effort from the KKR side, with all three departments clicking together. Jason Roy started the carnage and Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh gave the finishing flourish.

In the bowling department, Varun Chakravarthy stood up and picked up 3 for 27 to rattle the RCB batters. Chasing 201, RCB started on the front-foot, but once Rana introduced the spinners, things took a U-turn and KKR dominated the proceedings.

After the win, KKR skipper Nitish Rana spoke with the official broadcaster and praised the KKR unit as a whole.

"If we do well in all the three phases- batting, bowling and fielding we will cross the line. The scenes around the dressing room have been good. We are in a good phase now."

Rana also had high praise for youngster Suyash Sharma who bowled his heart out against the RCB batters.

"Suyash Sharma is a new guy for the big league. He is playing his 4th or 5th game in his first-ever season of the IPL. He has done well so far and is full of confidence. Whenever a tougher situation turns up, he lifts his hand up and says I will do the job for you captain. He has been brilliant."

Talking about Suyash Sharma, the youngster came in as the impact substitute and picked up the crucial wicket of Faf du Plessis to make an immediate impact. He eventually finished with figures of 2 for 30.
