Glenn Maxwell wasn't required to bat much for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) when they played against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) as the visitors sealed the game in the final over with much of the balls being faced by skipper Faf du Plessis and century smashed Virat Kohli.

So, after the game, Maxwell was interviewed about his thoughts on the win and how did they managed to do so.

"It's been a long time on the road for us. We knew we had to be in a position from where we can be at a striking distance. We are peaking at the right time in the tournament. Klaasen's knock was sensational. Some shots that he played through covers in the powerplay were great. As soon as our bowlers bowled short, he punished them."

"Siraj went under 20 tonight with not much assistance from the surface. Parnell also bowled very well. Maybe we were one seamer short but credit to them for the way they bowled. When those guys are chasing, they know exactly what they want to do. The left-arm spin was turning from one end and not turning from the other. They knew when and whom to attack. It's a great time for us to take on the table toppers at home."

RCB have not only managed to keep their playoff hopes alive but they have a good chance of finishing the league phase in top two. After 13 outings, the Royal Challengers have won seven games and lost six to bag 14 points with a NRR of 0.180. They will next face Gujarat Titans at home on Sunday, in a game which will determine their fate in the tournament.
