The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 was lit up last evening when India took on rivals Pakistan at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The match swung the pendulum several times and witnessed former India skipper Virat Kohli produce a scintillating knock that helped India prevail over Pakistan on the last ball of the match.

Such close losses are never easy to digest. At one stage, Pakistan had Indian batters on the mat at 31 for 4, but Kohli (82*) and Hardik Pandya (40) steered their side out of trouble and brought down the target to 16 in the final over.

Despite taking two wickets in his over, Mohammad Nawaz was guilty of bowling a no-ball and a wide, which tilted the game in India's favour.

In a video posted by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Skipper Babar Azam was seen motivating his teammates, especially Nawaz, seated dejectedly in a corner.

Babar also spoke about learning from this loss and moving forward. Apart from Azam, batting consultant Matthew Hayden and head coach Saqlain Mushtaq motivated their troops.

Here's what Babar stated

"Brothers, it was a good match. Some mistakes happened but we have to learn from them, we shouldn't fall. The tournament has just started, we have lots of matches left. In the end, I would say, we didn't lose because of one person. We all lost as a team,

"Especially, Nawaz, don't worry. You are my match-winner) and I will always have the belief in you. No matter what happens. You will win matches for me."

Pakistan will take on Zimbabwe in their subsequent Super 12 Group 2 encounter on Thursday.
