India and Australia are engaged in a fierce battle in the third Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 at the Gabba in Brisbane. After a rain-marred day one, the Indian team has turned the tides on the second day.

The day started brilliantly for the visitors as the ace pacer, Jasprit Bumrah struck the wicket of Usman Khawaja early. This was soon followed by the wicket of Nathan McSweeney. These two wickets put Australia under pressure and it was upto Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith to bail the team from that situation.

Smith and Labuschagne had a 37-run partnership going between themselves and things were looking ominous for the Indian team. However, Nitish Reddy struck gold for team India in the 34th over of the innings.

On the second delivery of the over, Reddy bowled a full delivery at the fourth stump line. Labuschagne went for an expansive drive and got an outside edge. The ball flew to Virat Kohli at second slip, who completed the catch rather easily.

Immediately after  the catch, the aggression within Virat Kohli was witnessed. He signalled for the Gabba crowd to be silent. It could have been a after effect of the booing the crowd was doing for Mohammad Siraj. Whatever it may be, the gesture by Kohli indicated how motivated he and the whole team is. India will now be looking to get the rest of the Australian batters as quickly as possible and take the driver's seat in the game.
