England and New Zealand are taking on each other in the third Test of the series at the Seddon Park in Hamilton. Even though the game does not bear much significance to the series as England have already sealed it. However, this has not taken the spice off the game as both the teams are giving more than their 100 percent for this game.
New Zealand batted first in the game and posted 347 runs in the first innings. There was no standout performance in the innings and mostly it was a team effort by the hosts.
England would have expected to maintain their dominance in the series with another strong show here. However, things did not turn out as planned for the visitors. They lost their openers rather early and it was on the middle order to put the team on the driver's seat. However, William O'Rourke has emerged as the destructor in chief or New Zealand and has put England on the back foot in the game.
William O'Rourke Changes the Complexion With Two Quick Wickets
During the 16th over the innings, O'Rourke picked up the wickets of Jacob Bethell and Harry Brook off two consecutive deliveries. While Bethell fell to a brilliant catch by Glenn Phillips, Harry Brook was the prey of a technical glitch in his batting.
On the last delivery of the over, O'Rourke bowled a back of a good length delivery that moved in a tad. Brook tried to defend the ball but got an inside edge and the ball rolled onto the stumps. It was a long back for the English prodigy as he had to walk back without troubling the scorers.
Notably, in his next over, O'Rourke got the big wicket of Joe Root too.
