In the ongoing match between Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars, the latter won the toss and opted to field first. The David Warner-led side had the perfect start as the ex-Australia captain and Cameron Bancroft stitched a 40-run opening stand. 

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Usama Mir, who is featuring for the Stars, had a dull moment in the field after he dropped a dolly. On one of the balls bowled by Peter Siddle, the batter flicked it towards the leg side, but a clever fielding placement by Marcus Stoinis nearly paid off, but Mir dropped a dolly. In fact, Siddle had started celebrating but was shocked by the poor effort in the field. 

Mir Bounces Back With Two-Wickets In A Row

Mir didn't let his day turn into a disaster, rather bounced back strongly by taking two wickets in a row. On the 3rd ball of the 6th over, he cleaned up Bancroft and then took a great catch off his own bowling on the very next delivery to stun Oliver Davies. 

Despite two wickets, Usama proved to be expensive as he registered the figures of 2/37 in his four overs. Talking about the match, at the time of writing this article, the Thunder are 146/5. The ongoing match is crucial for both teams as they are currently placed in the bottom half of thee table. 

Notably, Stars are last on the table and have no wins after four matches. Meanwhile, the Thunder are placed sixth as they have a solitary win in two matches.
