The Trinbago Knight Riders are taking on the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 19th match of the CPL 2024. This match is being played at the Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad, West Indies. 

TKR's Tribute for the 'Sir Champion'

This is the first game of the Knight Riders at their home ground. Dwayne Bravo, the legendary Trinidadian all-rounder, announced before the start of the season that this would be his last season in the tournament. Thus, this is one last homecoming for the veteran player in the CPL. 

The Knight Riders wanted to make this occasion special for the veteran cricketer. Before the match started, a Guard of Honour was arranged for Bravo as he walked out into the field. As the TKR fielders took the field, all eleven players donned a special jersey as a tribute to Bravo. 'Thank You DJ' was printed on the jerseys of the TKR players for this game along with jersey no. 47.

DJ Bravo's jersey was even more special. It had 'Sir Champion' printed on it, signifying Bravo's contribution to the franchise and to the game of cricket as a whole. 

Dwayne Bravo's T20 career

Bravo's T20 career is nothing short of remarkable. He has played an astonishing 579 games for various franchises, scoring 6,970 runs at a strike rate of 125.49 and an average of 22.41. But it's his bowling that truly sets him apart, with 630 wickets to his name, an average of 24.31, and a strike rate of 17.60. These numbers are a testament to his skill and dedication to the game. 

Dwayne Bravo has represented three different franchises in the Indian Premier League. He has played for the Mumbai Indians, the Gujarat Lions (now disbanded) and the Chennai Super Kings. He has 183 wickets under his belt in the IPL in 161 Matches.
