Smriti Mandhana Fails To Deliver In A Pressure Chase
The Indian team after a disappointing show with the bat in the previous game would have hoped to show better resilience in this game. With a batter like Smriti Mandhana at the top, the management would have hoped for her to give them a solid start. However, Smriti failed to deliver per expectations as she was knocked over by Kim Garth early in the innings.
On the second delivery of the fourth over, Garth bowled a fullish delivery at the off stump line. Mandhana was looking to drive the ball, however, all she managed was a thick inside edge that deflected the ball on to the stumps. With his Mandhana's short stay in the middle came to an end and India were put under early pressure.
