The Qualifier 2 of the Caribbean Premier League turned out to be another heartbreaking knockout game for David Miller. His team, Barbados Royals, crashed out of the competition after an eight-wicket loss to Guyana Amazon Warriors. Barbados Royals batted first and scored just 148 runs, and it was courtesy of Miller's 36 off 26 balls.

However, he had a major scare in the 17th over when Kevin Sinclair, with his acrobatic effort near the boundary line, saved a six and almost took a catch. It brought back memories of Suryakumar Yadav's famous T20 World Cup 2024 final catch in Barbados. Luckily for Miller, the momentum was taking Sinclair out of the playing area, which forced the fielder to throw the ball inside the boundary line.

Kevin Sinclair Pulls Off A Heroic Effort

It was the third delivery of the 17th over and Pretorius bowled it on a length on off. David Miller whipped it with his strong wrists and it seemed that the ball would fly over the ropes for a six. However, Kevin Sinclair at deep backward square leg, ran to his left, dived, caught the ball in the air and threw it back to the playing area. He saved five runs for his side as Miller and Holder took just one run on that ball.

Guyana Amazon Warriors Advance To The Final Of CPL 2024

Pretorius eventually got rid of David Miller in the 19th over and Barbados Royals' target were bowled out for 148. In reply, Guyana Amazon Warriors, the home team, delivered a commanding batting performance and chased down the target in the 15th over with eight wickets in hand. The win took the defending champions to the final of CPL 2024 where they will now face Faf du Plessis-led Saint Lucia Kings.
