Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube Take Mumbai To A Formidable Total
Even though Mumbai lost Prithvi Shaw early, a blazing partnership between Ajinkya Rahane and Shreyas Iyer stabilised things a bit. As the stage was set, Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube took full advantage of it. While Surya scored 70 runs off 46 deliveries, Dube made 71 off 37 deliveries.
The knock by Surya and Shivam Dube ensured that Mumbai got to a formidable total. They posted 192/4 on the board and gave a tough challenge to the services. It was necessary for the Mumbai bowlers to give them a good start in the second innings to give them an advantage in this match.
Shardul Thakur stood up on the occasion and picked up four wickets in his first spell and rocked the Services early. Even though they tried to reach near the target, the fall of regular wickets did not allow them to maintain the stability. After a fighting 54 by Ahlawat, it was Poonam Poonia who showed flashes of brilliance down the order.
Poonia Impresses Shardul Thakur With His Reflex
During his 19 off 13 delivers, Poonia hit a couple of maximums. Both came against Shardul Thakur in the last two balls of his spell. Out of these two shots, the last shot has caught the eye of the fans.
On the last delivery of the 19th over, Thakur bowled a full ball at the middle and leg stump line. Poonia changed his grip to left hand very quickly and lofted the ball over third man with a switch hit to get a maximum. The shot even impressed Shardul Thakur as he walked up the batter and shook hands with him. The Services innings, though was ended at 153 and they lost the match by 39 runs.
