Sanju Samson forced SKY to take DRS (Source:@BCCI/X.com)
Sanju Samson is fast making his name as one of the most thinking men in cricket and is showing shades of MS Dhoni behind the stumps. It was evident again in the third T20I against England in Rajkot when the the wicketkepeer managed to convince his captain Suryakumar Yadav to take the DRS and it proved to be the right call.
It was the final ball of the ninth over and Varun Chakaravarthy bowled it on a length, around off. Jos Buttler who was batting on 24 tried to reverse-sweep it, but appeared to have miss the ball on its way to the keeper. Samson though appealed immediately after taking the catch and as the umpire did not respond positively, Sanju Samson convinced Suryakumar Yadav to go for the DRS.
England Collapse After Buttler's Wicket
The decision took some time, but it eventually showed that the England captain got a glove on the ball and it was a brilliant call catch from Samson. The wicket of Buttler triggered a collapse and from 87-2, England were reduced to 115-6 in no time.
It was Varun Chakaravarthy who did the majority of damage by bagging three wickets and ran through the middle order with great ease. Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel also chipped in with a wicket each and once again England batters have faltered on a flat deck. India are already leading the series by a 2-0 margin and would take an unassailable lead if they win this game.
