Rohit Sharma turned on the heat in one of the most high-profile game of IPL 2024 between MI and CSK as he registered his second century in IPL with a magnificent boundary even though MI ended up on a losing side against a well-oiled CSK unit. The former MI skipper played an unbeaten knock of 105 from 63 balls which included five sixes and 11 fours filled with class and elegance.

Chennai Super Kings scored 206 while batting first on a Wankhede pitch that is known to help the chasing team and MI would have backed themselves to chase the target. MI got off to a flying start as well and scored 70 in the first seven overs but double-wicket over from Pathirana slowed them down as Rohit Sharma kept battling from one end.

Rohit also hit his 500th six in T20s in this game and never looked in any trouble despite rest of the batters failing to capitalize on their starts. Rohit scored back-to-back boundaries in the final over and the first of those took him to his second IPL century, the first one came back in 2012 against KKR.

The century was a brilliant hit off Pathirana as Rohit made room and smacked it through the extra cover region for a boundary. It brought out great applause from Wankhede crowd but sadly for them, there team ended up losing the game by 20 runs.
