Experienced Indian batter Ajinkya Rahane had a memorable outing with the bat, as he hammered a breathtaking half-century in Mumbai's ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy semifinal clash against Baroda at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Opening the batting for Mumbai, Rahane struck a fiery fifty to set the tone for his side's clinical performance in the must-win affair.
The stylish Mumbaikar hammered several glorious boundaries; however, it was his massive six off Hardik Pandya that grabbed the maximum attention. The right-handed batter nailed a beautiful pull shot, bringing up his fifty with a huge six off Pandya's bowling.
The incident occurred during the tenth over of Mumbai's innings when they were bossing the game, courtesy of Rahane and Shreyas Iyer's sensational stand. Hardik Pandya had a good start to the over, conceding only two singles off his first three balls. However, as soon as he erred in his line, Ajinkya Rahane made him pay, hitting him for a colossal six.
From over the wicket, Pandya bowled a short ball, inviting Rahane to go big in the on-side. The batter accepted the invitation with both hands, connecting the pull shot perfectly and dispatching the ball into the stands.
