Faf du Plessis, the captain of Johannesburg Super Kings, continued his poor run of form in the latest match against Paarl Royals on Wednesday, January 24, failing to make a significant impact with the bat once again.

Faf du Plessis, who hasn't surpassed the 20-run mark in five matches of the tournament, was bowled by Lungi Ngidi, as he could only manage 17 runs from 19 balls.

At first, it seemed like Faf du Plessis was in for a good day, but his fortunes turned sour in the sixth over when Ngidi, coming over the wicket, delivered a full-length slower cutter outside off.

Attempting to push it through the offside, the former South Africa captain saw the ball come back and crash into his off stump.

This 17 off 19 balls is his highest score in the tournament so far for du Plessis, following scores of six, seven, 10, and 9 runs in previous matches, respectively.

One of the reasons behind the Johannesburg Super Kings' poor form in the tournament is also Faf du Plessis' struggle, as he has failed to provide the team with a good start.

Talking about the match, the Joburg Super Kings banked on Reeza Hendricks' fifty to make 168 runs with two wickets lost in the first innings. But, well, it wasn't sufficient, as Paarl Royals managed to chase it down in 19 overs.
