Mohammed Siraj and Travis Head were involved in an ugly altercation during the Adelaide Test, and since then the tension has gone a notch higher in the ongoing BGT. Travis Head has been at the forefront of quite a lot of Indian heartbreaks in the last couple of years, and India fans have developed a hate and love relationship with the southpaw.
The same frustration of an Indian fan was on display on the final day of the Gabba Test when Mohammed Siraj removed Travis Head to reduce Australia to 60-6 in their second innings. It was the fourth ball of the 15th over and it was bowled on a shortish length, around off. Head made room and went for wild slog towards the leg side.
Gabba Test Set For An Interesting Finish
However, he ended up getting a top-edge towards the gully region and Rishabh Pant safely came under it to grab a fine catch. As the catch was taken a little kid in the crowd came up with an aggressive reaction, handing Travis Head a send-off with great passion.
The flurry of wickets in Australia's second innings has put the Gabba Test in an interesting position. Aussies are going for a win and are hitting shots or getting out while India with wickets also now have a slight chance to pull of an unthinkable win. Australia declared at 89-7 and India need 275 to win the Test and with 50-odd overs in tank, the final couple of sessions are going to produce great excitement for fans.
