In a gut-wrenching moment for India, Yashasvi Jaiswal was forced to walk back to the dressing room after a foolish mix-up with Virat Kohli. Jaiswal, looked in absolutely brilliant form nearing his second ton of the series, however luck was not on his side at the Melbourne Cricket Ground today.

A promising innings by Yashasvi Jaiswal came to a tragic end when he was involved in a terrible mix-up with Virat Kohli. In the 40.6 over, Jaiswal flicked a full delivery from Scott Boland to mid-on and immediately called for a run.

Kohli, though, hesitated and watched the ball for a second before sending his partner back. Jaiswal did not get the signal and kept running, only to see that both batters had ended up at the same end. When Kohli turned back, Jaiswal was left high and dry. Though Cummins missed a direct hit, Alex Carey picked up the ball and flicked the bails off calmly at the striker's end, leaving no option for Jaiswal to make his ground.
