In an unexpected reaction from the Virat Kohli, he was seen encouraging crowd at the Melbourne Cricket Ground to continue sledging him in the on-going India versus Australia clash. While, fans continued to bully Kohli, he remained unaffected by the noise.

Kohli, who recently made headlines after an altercation with 19-year-old Sam Konstas on Day 1, has received criticism for his actions along with a hefty fine from his match fees. Fans continued calling out the Indian legend for his actions the next day as well. 

In the video circulating on X, formerly known as Twitter, the crowd at MCG is heard loudly calling Kohli a 'wanker'. While, the 36-year-old stunner asks the crowd to keep it coming and cheer louder.

What Does 'Wanker' mean?

The term "wanker" is a British slang used to describe a very stupid, unpleasant, or contemptible person, typically a man. Over time, it became a derogatory term for someone considered arrogant, irritating, or obnoxious. During the match at the MCG, fans called Virat Kohli a "wanker," likely due to his on-field behaviour or interactions, which sparked controversy.

Virat Kohli, who had been without his usual spark in the second and third Tests, showed great form in this match. After KL Rahul was dismissed early by  Pat Cummins, Kohli took charge, remaining calm and composed. He formed a solid 102-run partnership with the in-form Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal, who had already scored a fifty in Perth, brought up his second 50-plus score in Australia, off 81 balls, marking his ninth Test fifty. However, India has just lost Jaiswal, with his dismissal leaving them a little shaky as they look to recover.
