On Day 3 of the second Test match between Pakistan and the West Indies at the Multan Cricket Stadium, Pakistan found themselves facing a tough challenge. With 178 runs still required to win, Pakistan's hopes were pinned on vice-captain Saud Shakeel, who was on the crease, resuming at 13 runs. However, things took a turn for the worse when Shakeel was dismissed early on the third day.

Early Blow for Pakistan On Day 3

The 25th over of Pakistan's innings turned out to be a crucial moment. Kevin Sinclair, the West Indies spinner, struck in the very first over of the day. It was a full-length delivery that curved back toward the middle stump and spun away, causing Shakeel to lunge forward and attempt a defensive shot. Unfortunately, he got an outside edge, and the ball flew straight to Kavem Hodge, who was waiting at first slip to make a sharp catch.

Shakeel, who had been looking to play the angle, was caught off guard by the delivery. The ball's flight and movement left him with no chance, and he was dismissed for just 13 runs, much to Pakistan's disappointment.

West Indies on the Verge of Historic Win

With Shakeel’s departure, Pakistan were left in a difficult position, now needing 178 more runs to win with only 5 wickets remaining. At the time of writing, Pakistan are at 115-6 in 38 overs, with Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha holding the fort at the crease.

West Indies, meanwhile, are in a strong position, just five wickets away from a potential historic win.
