Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan showcased his hard-hitting prowess, hammering a breathtaking fifty in Konark Suryas Odisha's ongoing Legends League Cricket (LLC) match against Southern Super Stars (SSS). The southpaw's exceptional knock ensured a respectable total for his side in the high-voltage encounter.

After the Super Stars' skipper Kedar Jadhav won the toss and opted to bowl first, Hamid Hassan gave them a rollicking start, scalping prized breakthroughs of Dilshan Munaweera and Kevin O'Brien. Skipper Irfan Pathan came out to bat when his side was reeling at eight for four. Although the Suryas had lost four wickets, Pathan batted with a positive approach, rescuing his side from a precarious situation.

The left-handed batter exhibited his incredible batting attributes, pushing the Super Stars on the back foot with his stroke-play. He struck six boundaries and three massive sixes for a breezy 47-ball 62.

His sensational innings powered KSO to 148 for eight, scripting their remarkable recovery following the early jitters. Notably, Pathan played a quick-fire six-ball 19*-run cameo in his team's previous group-stage fixture against Gujarat Greats, which the Suryas won by seven wickets.

Masakadza Puts Super Stars In Command Vs Suryas

However, despite Pathan's stunning half-century, the Konark Suryas find themselves in troubled waters in their ongoing clash against Southern Super Stars. After restricting the Suryas to 148, the Super Stars had a shaky start to their innings, losing Martin Guptill off Diwesh Pathania's bowling.

However, Zimbabwean batting great Hamilton Masakadza hammered a blistering fifty to bring them back into the contest. At the time of writing, the Super Stars were 86 for one in 11.3 overs, with Masakadza and Shreevats Goswami batting on 57* and 23*, respectively.
