The Shivamogga Lions are playing against the Hubli Tigers in the 20th match of the Maharaja Trophy 2024 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The Lions won the toss in the match and opted to field first. 

The Hubli Tigers did not get off to a great start as they lost their openers pretty early. They had a small partnership for the third wicket, but soon they lost two more wickets in quick succession. The second of these two wickets was that of Thippa Reddy. 

Thippa Reddy's departure put the Tigers in trouble

Doddamani bowled a length delivery outside the off stump and invited an aggressive shot from the batter. Thippa Reddy could not resist the temptation and went after it. But all he managed was a top edge that flew towards the short third region. HS Sharath who was stationed there timed his jump correctly and took a sharp catch to send Reddy back to the hut. 

The skipper of the team, Manish Pandey scored 44 runs off 31 balls and propelled the team towards a respectable total. Manvanth Kumar (28 off 13) delivered a fiery cameo towards the end of the innings and helped the Tigers reach a total of 141 before they were bundled out in 19.3 overs. 

At the time of writing,  the Shivamogga Lions are stationed at 17/0 in three overs.
