Alana King knocks over Dani Wyatt [Source: @cricketcomau/X.Com]
Alana King, the Australian spinner idolises the great Shane Warne and became a leg-spinner because of him. On Tuesday, she made her idol proud by delivering the ball of the decade as she castled Dani Wyatt's stumps during the second ODI between Australia and England. Her spell against the English side turned things around for the Aussies.
The Aussies were in a spot of bother defending a low-score and they needed someone to step up and deliver the goods. Alana King stepped up and ran through the English batting order to seal the win for her side.
The wily leg spinner scalped 4 wickets for 25 runs, but the highlight was the dismissal of Dani Wyatt and how she bamboozled the English batter with her trademark leg-spin bowling.
The ball pitched on the middle stump and it drew Dani Wyatt forward as she prodded for a tentative defence. The ball took a sharp turn as it drifted away and castled the top of off stump. The ball reminded everyone of Shane Warne and how he used to dismiss batters with his traditional leg-break bowling.
Australia seal the series
The Australian Women's team have sealed the ODI series with a game still to play. The side won the first match convincingly and won the second game from out of nowhere. The home side got bundled out for a paltry 180.
Apart from a gritty 50 from Ellyse Perry, all the other batters failed as Sophie Ecclestone ran riot and scalped 4 wickets to give England the edge.
However, their batters couldn't do anything against Alana King as the visitors got knocked over for 159 and lost the match.
