India are trying to script a dramatic comeback into the fifth and final match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. After the home team bundled them for 185 on the first day, the Jasprit Bumrah-led bowling is trying to bring the team back into the game.
Australia started the second day of the match at 9/1 with Usman Khawaja back in the hut on the first day of the game. The Indian team maintained the pressure on the second day and did not allow the home team to get off the blocks early in the day.
Marnus Labuschagne Deceived By Jasprit Bumrah
On the seventh over of the innings, Jasprit Bumrah got the better of Marnus Labuschagne. It was the second delivery of the over, when Bumrah bowled a good length delivery at the fourth stump line. The ball moved away a bit after pitching and drew that ball into a defensive Test.
Labuschagne read the length wrong and committed himself to the front foot at first. However, seeing the length he tried to adjust himself and in the process edge the ball to the keeper. The Indian team were certain that there was a definite edge, however, the umpire disagreed and did not raise the finger.
Bumrah immediately took the DRS and the replays confirmed that there was a definite edge. As the on field decision got overturned, Labuschagne had to walk back to the hut. The fact that Labuschagne decided to stay on the crease even after getting a definite edge has irked the Indian cricket fans.
