Royal Challengers Bangalore wicket-keeper Anuj Rawat has had a memorable day in his side's ongoing group-stage fixture against Rajasthan Royals. After helping his side breach the 170-run mark through a blistering cameo, the youngster grabbed a sensational catch to send the Royals skipper Sanju Samson back to the dugout.
Chasing a competitive total of 172, Rajasthan Royals got off to a disastrous start, losing in-form opener Yashasvi Jaiswal for a duck in the very first over. However, the second over turned out to be a nightmare for the home side, as Wayne Parnell shook them with twin strikes, dismissing Jos Buttler and Samson for zero and four, respectively.
After Buttler was caught by Siraj at cover point, Samson miscued a pull, as the ball went sky-high in the air. However, Anuj Rawat, who is keeping in place of Dinesh Karthik, covered a fair distance and dived forward to complete a brilliant catch, putting an end to Samson's brief stay.
Riding on spectacular new-ball spells from Siraj and Parnell, RCB have pushed RR down on the mat. As of writing, the Royals are 19 for three, with Joe Root and Devdutt Padikkal batting on 8* and 4*, respectively.
