Veteran Namibian all-rounder David Wiese showcased his batting prowess in the rain-marred T20 World Cup encounter against England at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua. Promoted to number three, Wiese took a particular liking for experienced English spinner Adil Rashid, smacking him for two sixes and a boundary in a single over. 

The incident occurred during the eighth over of Namibia's innings when they were on the verge of a defeat in this rain-curtailed affair. After conceding three runs off his first two balls, Rashid bowled a delivery that was too short outside the off stump. 

Wiese rocked back inside the crease and hammered it down the ground for a maximum. The next ball was well tossed-up from Rashid as Wiese went down on a knee to dispatch it disdainfully over the fence with a magnificent slog sweep. He clobbered the next ball over the cover for a four, helping Namibia collect 20 runs off the over. 

However, although Wiese scored a valiant 12-ball 27, his heroic effort couldn't save Namibia from a defeat as England successfully defended the total. With this loss, Namibia bowed out of the T20 World Cup with two points to their name. 

On the other hand, the Englishmen added two priceless points to their tally with the win. They would pray for an Australian victory over Scotland to enter the Super Eights.
