In what turned out to be an embarrassing moment for Pakistan strike bowler Naseem Shah, Mark Chapman of New Zealand trashed him with four boundaries on the trot to propel the Kiwis to a brave victory.

Pakistan scheduled a five-game T20 series against New Zealand in the middle of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, which prompted regular Kiwi players to opt out of their national duties.

Accordingly, NZ sent a half strength squad to Pakistan only to humble the host. Pakistan fielded a full strength squad in the second T20 game held yesterday but failed to neutralise the threat named Mark Chapman.

Chasing a 179 runs total, Kiwis lost both the openers inside powerplay. However, Mark Chapman shouldered the responsibility to keep his side in the hunt with a gritty half century.

With the required run rate under control, Chapman humbled Pakistan’s frontline bowler Naseem Shah with a 23 runs over. The Kiwi batter slammed four boundaries on the trot to bring up a 100 runs partnership with Dean Foxcroft.

Chapman was pumped as he smashed Naseem all over the park. His first six raced over the deep backward square leg, followed by a four in the same direction.

For the next maximum, Chapman danced down the track to smoke a flat six, and lastly, the batter used the presence of mind to get an under edge past the wicket-keeper down the leg side for a four.

With that mega over, New Zealand chased down the total with 10 balls to spare and levelled the series 1-1.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan team and its supporters were in disbelief after getting dominated by a half-strength Kiwi squad.
