Gujarat Titans pipped Mumbai Indians in a rain-marred thriller in match number 56 of the IPL 2025 season. Shubman Gill and star spinner Sai Kishore played starring roles for the visitors, while Will Jacks and pace demons Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult came up clutch for the Mumbai Indians.
Here, we take a look at the entire highlights of the match, as it panned out at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday, May 6.
Jacks, Bosch Take MI To 155 Despite Siraj, Kishore Spells
Getting invited to bat first, Mumbai Indians lost both openers, Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma to Mohammed Siraj and Arshad Khan respectively within the first four overs of the match. Forming forces at 26-2, number three Will Jacks hammered down a scintillating half-century and shared a fighting 71-run partnership with Suryakumar Yadav. However, Yadav’s dismissal to Sai Kishore triggered a colossal batting collapse for the hosts as they slipped from 97-2 to 123-7 in the space of just six overs.

Corbin Bosch (27 off 22) added some quick runs in the slog overs to steer Mumbai Indians to a competitive 155-8. For the Gujarat Titans, spinners Sai Kishore (2-34) and Rashid Khan (1-21) picked up three wickets between them after Siraj and Arshad’s opening breakthroughs.
Titans Overcome Bumrah, Boult Threat
Defending 156, Trent Boult struck early for Mumbai Indians with the wicket of in-form Sai Sudharsan for just five. Titans skipper Shubman Gill responded back with a sluggish 43-run knock from 46 balls, sharing crucial partnerships with Jos Buttler (30 off 27) and Sherfane Rutherford (28 off 15) in the process.
After attaining full control at 113-2 in less than 15 overs, a peach of a delivery from Jasprit Bumrah to Gill following a rain delay helped Mumbai Indians crawl back into the game. The Titans soon slipped from 113-2 to 126-6, until another rain delay halted their innings at 132-6 in 18 overs.
With a revised target of 147 from 19 overs, Gerald Coetzee and Rahul Tewatia unleashed sparkling cameos to guide Gujarat Titans to a thrilling three-wicket win.
