The 3rd of November 2022, saw only one match in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The two teams in the match were South Africa and Pakistan. While the Proteas were in a good position going into the match, it was a battle of survival for Pakistan.

Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first in the match. But the batters failed to justify the decision and kept losing wickets in regular intervals. The only promising part in the top order was played by Mohammad Haris who scored an aggressive 28 off 11 balls. But the other batters failed to build up any resilience and the momentum of the innings kept slipping away from them.

However, Iftikhar Ahmed (51 off 35) and Shadab Khan (52 off 22) decided not to give up and put up a respectable total for their team. Their valuable contributions helped Pakistan reach a total of 185 runs in their 20 overs.

In the chase South Africa's skipper was the only man who gave a fight from the top order. He played a fiery knock of 36 runs from 19 balls and kept his team in the hunt. But in the 8th over of the innings Shadab Khan changed the complexion of the match as he picked up the wickets of Bavuma and Aiden Markram (20 off 14).

Rain interrupted the match when South Africa were 69 for 4 from 9 overs. When the match resumed after break they were required to chase down 73 runs from 5 overs. The task was too much for the South African batting order and they just managed to score 108 runs at the end of allotted 14 overs (reduced). Pakistan won the match by (DLS method)
