As expected, Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) biggest weapon is back in the playing XI to face the Mumbai Indians in a tricky game at the Wankhede Stadium. The all-rounder missed the last match as he was unwell but is back for this riveting battle against his favourite opponent in the IPL.

Hardik Pandya won the toss and he elected to bowl first on a surface where batting becomes easy as the game progresses. Rahane, at the toss gave a sigh of relief to all the KKR fans as he stated that Narine is back in the XI and will play a big part in the clash. However, with Sunil Narine back, who has Rahane dropped?.

With the KKR great back, Rahane had no choice but to drop Moeen Ali from the playing XI. Interestingly, Moeen had a great game against RR, as he scalped 2 wickets in 4 overs and only gave away 23 runs. However, there is a specific reason why he was dropped.

The Wankhede Stadium, traditionally has supported the pace bowlers as they get extra bounce from the surface. Initially, they get some lateral movement and the pacers enjoy bowling at this venue. Hence, there is no need to play three spinners in the side.

KKR already have Narine and Varun Chakravarthy, the deadly duo and having three spinners was not the logical move. Hence, Moeen Ali was dropped from the playing XI.
