Sri Lanka will host Australia in what is going to be the last match of ICC World Test Championship 2023/25 league phase. The 149th match of the third cycle of the tournament will also be the second of the ongoing bilateral series.

With WTC 2023/25 finalists already decided, local fans would be wanting to see Sri Lanka managing to draw level a second consecutive Test series against Australia. Having already retained the Warne-Muralitharan Trophy, Australia, on the other hand, would be yearning to win a Test series in the island nation after more than 13 years.

Australia, who had registered a Test series triumph in Pakistan in 2022, wouldn’t get a better chance to win two series in Asia within three years. Assuming it happens, it would be for the first time since 2006 for the Aussies to taste dual success in the subcontinent.

The first ball of the second Test will be bowled at 10:00 AM (IST). As far as the all-important toss is concerned, Dhananjaya de Silva and Steven Smith will step out for the same at 09:30 AM (IST).

What Are The Session Timings For Day 1 of SL vs AUS Galle Test?

Readers must note that any uninterrupted day of Test cricket comprises three two-hour long sessions separated by a 40-minute lunch and a 20-minute tea break.

Therefore, the first session will be played between 10:00 AM (IST) and 12:00 PM (IST). At noon, players will break for lunch. Subsequently, the afternoon session will commence at 12:40 PM (IST). After playing for two more hours, players will return to their respective dressing rooms for the tea break at 02:40 PM (IST).

The final session of the day will be played between 03:00 PM (IST) and 05:00 PM (IST). In case of delays or if 90 overs aren’t bowled, match officials can extend play by 30 minutes (assuming light permits).
