In a sensational display of skill and strategy, Rest of India emerged victorious in the prestigious Irani Cup after defeating Madhya Pradesh by a massive margin of 238 runs, thereby retaining the coveted trophy.

The catalysts behind this historic win were Yashasvi Jaiswal's awe-inspiring centuries and the formidable bowling lineup's fierce performances.

Rest of India bowlers leave Madhya Pradesh batters reeling

Resuming the final day's play at 81/2, Madhya Pradesh's skipper Himanshu Mantri was given out caught behind off Navdeep Saini's bowling in the very first over of the day after an admirable knock of 51 off 81 balls.

Although the ball was in close proximity to the sticker, it did not make contact with the Madhya Pradesh captain's bat. This decision sparked a total batting collapse for the hosts, leaving them in disarray.

Subsequently, Yash Dubey followed his captain to the pavilion, leaving Madhya Pradesh reeling at 94/4. Harsh Gawli and Aman Solanki attempted to salvage the lost cause by stitching a 49-run partnership.

However, their efforts were in vain as the partnership was broken by Atit Sheth when Solanki was dismissed after scoring 31(45). The right-arm bowler then struck again with a half volley, dismissing Saransh Jain.

Pulkit Narang and Saurabh Kumar executed clinical performances in dismissing the lower order and sealed the victory for Rest of India.

Kumar Kartikeya was the last wicket to fall, as Madhya Pradesh were bowled out for 198, enabling Rest of India to secure a thumping victory.

Saurabh Kumar captured three wickets, while Mukesh Kumar, Sheth, and Narang grabbed two each.

Jaiswal's scintillating twin centuries earned him the accolade of 'Player of the Match.' The southpaw, who struck a stunning 213 in the first innings, scored a sensational 144 out of his team's second innings total of 246, thereby setting a massive target of 437 for the hosts.

Overall, Rest of India's batting and bowling were in perfect synchronisation, leaving the opponents hapless. This win will undoubtedly go down in the annals of history as one of Rest of India's most remarkable victories.
