The packed 2025 cricketing schedule has ended for Pakistan as the team defeated Sri Lanka in the tri-nation series finals to end the year on a high. What started as a disappointing year after crashing out of the Champions Trophy turned into happy memories as the Men in Green clinched the trophy to push their contention for the T20 World Cup 2026.

One of the talking points in recent times has been the comeback of their star batter, Babar Azam. He has had a disappointing year by his lofty standards, and the batter was also dropped from the T20I setup due to his poor strike rate.

After his comeback, Babar has had quite a few underwhelming performances, but at the same time, he has notched up several records and here is a list of them.

Highest run-getter in T20Is

  • When Babar made his T20I comeback after being dropped, there was one question on everyone’s minds - will he be able to surpass Rohit Sharma and become the leading run-getter in T20Is? The Pakistan batter eventually achieved the feat as he dethroned the India legend and stood tall as the highest run-getter in the game’s shortest format.

Most 50+ scores in T20Is

  • Before Babar, Virat Kohli, the India great stood at the top of the pile as he had 39 scores of fifty-plus in T20Is, but Babar broke that record too, and he now has 41 scores of fifty-plus in the format.

Second quickest Pakistan batter to 15K runs

  • Babar had a slump in form in the last two years, but the batter attained a special milestone after his comeback as the righty batter became the second quickest Pakistan cricketer to achieve the milestone of 15,000 runs at the international level.

Third quickest to 20 ODI centuries

  • He slammed a majestic century against Sri Lanka, which was his 20th ton, and in the process, the former Pakistan captain became the 3rd quickest to 20 hundreds in ODIs. He took 136 innings to reach the milestone, while Hashim Amla, and Virat Kohli took 108, and 133 innings, respectively.

Joint-most ODI tons for Pakistan

  • Babar Azam recently smacked his 20th ODI century, and he became the Pakistan player with the joint-most centuries in 50-overs format. He equalled Saeed Anwar’s record, but interestingly, the star batter achieved the feat in fewer matches.
