In a pivotal moment at Visakhapatnam, India, led by Rohit Sharma, won the toss and elected to bat against England, setting the stage for a crucial second Test match. This decision comes on the heels of India's narrow defeat in the series opener in Hyderabad, where England's Ollie Pope showcased resilience and skill, capitalizing on missed opportunities by the Indian fielders.

Despite India's historical dominance in home Tests, England's aggressive strategy, exemplified by Ben Stokes' leadership, proved formidable as they overturned a significant first-innings deficit to secure a remarkable victory. Key partnerships and stellar performances from debutant Tom Hartley underscored England's determination.

Captain's Thoughts:

Rohit Sharma: "We are going to bat first. Looks like a good pitch. The pitch is gonna do its thing. We have to play good cricket to win the game. What happened in Hyderabad, we will take some positives out of it and quickly move on. That's something we can do as a group. We've spoken about some things that we need to do and we will look to execute those plans. If you are playing over a period of 5 days, you have to do well in all sorts of departments. We batted well in the 1st innings but didn't have the same intent in the 2nd innings. We bowled alright in the 1st innings but in the 2nd innings it was a brilliant knock by Ollie. We do understand what went wrong for us. Hopefully we can come and correct those mistakes.

Injuries are part and parcel of the game, we understand that. When you play so much cricket there will be injuries that's why you have guys sitting on the bench who have done extremely well whenever gotten an opportunity. Hopefully they can cash in. 2 forced changes in Jadeja and KL. Siraj, looking at the amount of cricket he has played in the last 6 months; we have rested him as well. We have got Mukesh, Kuldeep and Rajat Patidar makes his debut."

Ben Stokes: "We would have batted as well. It was a great last week. But we have to concentrate on this week. We know India's gonna come back hard so new game new week.

We will take the confidence off the last win to this week, it's a new week. We have got to start again. Coming out to India is an experience in itself. Its an amazing atmosphere to play in front of. Jimmy Anderson comes in to replace Mark Wood. Leach is injured so Shoaib Bashir makes his debut."
