Parshavi Chopra and Shweta Sehrawat continued their merry best with ball and bat as the Indian Under-19 girls advanced to the final of the inaugural Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup.

The Girls in Blue have thumped New Zealand Under-19 by chasing a mere of 109 runs within 15 overs.

Bowling first, Shafali Verma and company didn't put any wrong against the White Ferns. The bowling, especially the tweakers, emerged as clinical for the Indians as they scalped wickets at regular intervals.

The Shafali Verma-led unit kept the opposition batters from settling in at Potchefstroom. No one apart from New Zealander keeper-batter Isabella Gaze could get more than 20. Meanwhile, for India, Chopra, with her leg-spin, scalped three wickets, while the other bowlers snapped a wicket apiece.

Izzy Sharp's unit could only post 108 after losing nine wickets in their quota of 20 overs.

To the response of 109 runs, India lost Verma (10) early in the innings, however; Sehrawat took the whole pressure on her firm shoulders when she stemmed a 62-run partnership with Soumya Tiwari (22).

In the end, the young Delhi batter and Gongadi Trisha stayed unbeaten till the end.

For the White Ferns, only Anna Browning was a ray of hope as she removed both the wickets in the semifinal.

Sehrawat, after her 61*, is now the leading run-getter in the World Cup with 292 runs from 6 innings. Chopra (9) is also the joint second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament.

The Girls in Blue now have secured a place in the finale, and they will be facing the winner of the second semifinal, which is between Australia U19 and England U19 on Friday.
